BBC Visits Berkeley Station Dig

capture-copyLast week the BBC News team visited the dig at Berkeley Station and interviewed Tim Cambray.

Tim explained the purpose of the dig is to try and identify the exact location and dimensions of the old Station, which was closed to passengers in November 1964 and later demolished.

The Vale of Berkeley Railway hopes to one day re-build the station as part of it’s plans to open up a heritage railway along the Branch line from Sharpness to Berkeley Road.

Details of progress can be followed under the “Track & Buildings” section of our projects page.
